It was quite the day at Donnybrook Gel Ballers today. With over 300 people attending to show there support for The Breast Cancer Foundation and have a great time gel balling.
The Gel Blaster Association were among the crowds, raising awareness of the Stop & Think campaign, which teaches the safety precautions and legislations of the gel balling community. They are currently working with the QLD police to keep the sport safe and fun for everyone!
A raffle was held with plenty of prizes, some guessing competitions and of course no event is complete without a BBQ. The Gel Blaster Association raised over $200.00 in raffle tickets and donated the $350.00 to cover the BBQ costs. Our very own employee Glenn Macey and his daughter Mikayla Macey assisted with the BBQ. Rolling up their sleeves for a good cause.
Donnybrook Gel Ballers donated 50% of all entry costs to the cause. Raising over $7,300 on the day, not to mention the online donations that are yet to be calculated. What an amazing outcome for such a great cause and an awesome day all round.
The feedback has been overwhelming positive and even caught attention from 7News who ran a story on the event. Please see the video below:
How amazing it was to see so many people getting involved and dressing up. Both guys and girls dressed to impressed in there best Pink outfits and a competition awarded the best dressed player of the day.
Its great to see some positive stories happening for the gel balling community. A great sport for both adults and kids that teaches teamwork, great for fitness and meeting new people. As the Gel Blaster Association says an activity that gets people out of the house.
